FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is The Quantics Kitchen?
A bespoke meal delivery service taking healthy eating to the next level and making it convenient for all. We do this by combining the expertise of scientist Dr Justin Gregory, Hong Kong’s top nutritionist and Functional Medicine practitioner, Miles Price and renowned Hong Kong Chef Mike Boyle and delivering direct to your door.
Do I need to take a DNA test to order the food?
You don’t need to take the SimplyFit test in order to have our meals. However, if you want to take your nutrition to the next level, we recommend to do the test, as it is information to use for the rest of your life.
There is also key guidance form the test on how to get the best from exercise supplementation, saving a lot of time and money with guess-work.
Many people also do our Food Sensitivities test as we can then omit any foods that you are sensitive to from your plan. We are always here for nutritional advice and you can do these tests at any time.
How do I determine my macro nutrient ratios?
Although we recommend that you take our SimplyFit DNA test to take the guesswork out of determining your personalised optimal macro nutrient ratio, we can also recommend the following ratios as a good starting point.
For weight maintenance: 40% Protein / 35% Carbohydrates / 25% Fats
For fat loss: 50% Protein / 25% Carbohydrates / 25% Fats

How many calories do I need to eat a day?
That depends on your activity levels, type of job, training and goals. You can use our Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE) calculator or pick up the phone and call our team of expert nutritionists, personal trainers and scientists who can help advise.
If you require <2000kcal per day we recommend that you select 300kcal meals (6 x 300kcal = 1800kcal).
If you require >2400kcal per day we recommend that you select 500kcal meals (5 x 500kcal = 2500kcal).
Where can I find details of all the meals you offer?
We offer a wide range of meals, breakfasts, smoothies and bars to suit all tastes and nutritional requirements.
We rotate the meals available for order on any delivery date and are continually adding new recipes, so that our menu never gets old or boring.
You can find the meals available in our current rotation here: Meals, breakfasts and bars.
If you are on a Meal Plan the meals you receive will be automatically rotated (noting any exclusions you selected) each delivery date to keep things varied.
For single meal orders you are free to choose from any of the meals available for each delivery date.
What if I have nutritional or other dietary requirements?
Our service is personalised and tailored to you, so we understand that you might have certain nutritional or dietary requirements.
These requirements will be easily identified if you have had a consultation with one of our nutritional experts, or if you have used one of our testing kits to check for any food intolerances. Please contact us, or check our website for more details on the services that we offer.
If you subscribe to a Meal Plan, then once we have received your payment you will be sent a “Meal Exclusion” form. This form lets you highlight any meals that you would not like to receive for any reason. If you don’t want fish for example, simply exclude all the meals containing fish and we won’t send them to you, its that simple.
If you are purchasing a single meal, then simply select the meals you want to receive.
If at any time you wish to update your preferences, please contact us and we’ll be happy to update them for you.

- Carbohydrates that are low GI and high in fibre and timed at the right part of the day.
- Truly healthy snacks such antioxidant smoothies and fibre bars.
- We make our meals taste great without adding all the things that slow you down like wheat products, dairy, soy and artificial flavourings.

Where do you source your meat from?
We are proud to use ethically sourced organic produce that are free from GMO or pesticides that unfortunately are in abundance in healthy food typically available in Hong Kong. We are Hormone free, GMO free, pesticide free!
In our menu you can find wild meats from South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Switzerland; and fish from Norway and the Atlantic sea.
Why do you use organic vegetables?
Studies have shown that organic vegetables have better nutrient composition compared to vegetables grown conventionally, also they have none of the pesticide residues which come with conventional produce, this is important as we have a responsibility to the planet to minimise the application of harmful pesticides which damage the environment. So all in all everyone wins.
How should I store my meals to keep them fresh?
It is recommended that you keep you meals refrigerated at 4 degree celsius at all times before consumption. At this temperature, our meals should stay fresh for at least 2 to 3 days.
